To Blog or Not To Blog That Is The Question?

It all began one warm Hawaiian Friday evening...It began with "Im hungry when do we eat?!" This was to become a recuring theme for the opening 48 hours. Never once did we here "Are we there yet?" only "Can we eat?!" Starbucks satisfied the initial hunger pains. Two Continental meals, two snacks, one panda express, bagels and nutella, crackers and cheese, thankfully all this was enough to get this growing young boy to reunite with his sister on Sunday morning. A reunion that almost wasn't, thanks to a not so kind custom official who almost detained Caitie from reaching her destination. Her parents totally neglected to provide her with the necessary info to complete the customs form. Thankfully it turned out ok. Yay! The vacation has started!
Dwight at least is looking on the bright side. He didn't have to rent one of these! But on the other hand the 2010 Volkswagon wasn't much easier. A push botton parking break was to blame the first time. The next three times were all german engineering, that is Hawaiian born german engineering. But, eventually we passed many red buses, many beautiful London sites, a large British Museum, and ZERO parking garages.
Where in the world is our little Hawaiian Girl? Thanks to Dad's cellphone being dead, she thought she would try the local telephone company. Thankfully Stitch didn't answer.
Here we started Caitie's first preparation for her World Civ 1 class. Her mother went to great lengths to show her historical artifacts from the Biblical stories. It was a well organized thought out tour, starting up in room 56, to 57, back to 55, forward 53, back to 56, through 65, down to 4, and we never saw the Nile bricks in room 61. We shall return! Thanks Lisa for the book, it was great!!

Sphinx and the fam.
Musical Lyre from the time of Abraham. We inquired on its availability for Praise Team, but they said no can do.
Game from Ur, that Abraham could have played. Scott and Dad would have taken it for the Cruise, but they have lost the instructions.
Storage Jar from time of Joshua.

The Storm god, Baal. From the time of Elijah.
A mosaic from the Palace of the Persian King, Xerxes. Mordacai would have sat next to the gate with something similar.
Dishes from the time of Queen Esther.
In stark contrast to the museum tour, Dwight lead the family directly to the Thai restraunt, for a delicious and satisfying meal. The family refreshed, but not yet reinvigorated, returned to the rental car for an hour and a half drive to Stonehenge. Caitie true to form was asleep by the first round-about. Scott and Launnies fought with all their might to stay awake, because they knew Dwight wasn't awake, as the tires rumbled first on the left and then on the right.
The audio tour of Stonehenge was uneventful enough, but the mystical power of this historic site recked havoc on the GPS. So it took 15 minutes longer to get to our final destination of Statford -upon- Avon.

Beds are now calling us, Cheers!

-Launnies, Caitie, Dwight, and the dead one (for Scott is already asleep)

  1. Whoo who, good job. I am amazed that you did all that after that long flight. I don't even remember my first day in England in 1972. Looking forward to more adventures.

Gordon was a delight yesterday. He followed me around in the kitchen. Turned on the fan while I was cooking fried potatoes. He watched them when I was doing other things. We shared books and could hardly wait to started reading one as it was a person who he knows and has been encouraged by. David called today and said we were doing great. Talked a bit on Skype with Connie and Roger/ We have the air on in our room. By the way your puppy realized you were not coming back and so last night we had two children in our beds. They go out side together. Worked out side some. Dad said how long before C onnie comes. One week and a day. Oh, he was excited about that. Rick called us late last night as he was driving back to the school. He said it was very cold and rain and snow forcast so he wanted to head home. So nice to be able to be in contact with us and the pictures brought many memories back. Love you all and hope this reaches you some where. We are doing fine for the second day. God bless.
